Help, I think i am having another blond moment or my bra is too tight. I downloaded "Rapidshare Auto Downloader 3.6.2" (some friend suggested) and bought a premium user account from Rapidshare (same friend). I can't get the darn thing working. I click on start download in the downloader software and login to my rapidshare account at the bottom screen. Nothing happens...WTF What is it that i am doing wrong or should i be using another manger for multiple files. Please help me.

I'm sorry but I have never heard of or used that tool. The most popular that I have heard of are flashget, Internet Download Manager (IDM), and JDownloader. All of these are pretty easy to use. I'd recommend trying one of the aforementioned.

If none of those end up helping you....you could try to dye your hair and/or buy a bigger bra

With JD, you can download containers, load links automatically and no hassles, you can also add extract password for auto-extract after finished downloading... You are to add RS log-in/password at the Premium settings page, multiple premium accounts can be added hence easily manage different download hosts from one simple App. The only downside is sometimes its a bit slow.

2nd, Internet Download Manager

Personally, I'm using JD & IDM if you ask me.
I have Flashget too, cuz certain web downloads I'm using Flashgot for Firefox.

Flashgot doesn't require that you have flashget.. I have Orbit and IDM, both of which work perfectly with flashgot add-on.

While we are on the subject of rapidshare and various downloading tools. I had a strange new issue occur last night. I'm trying to juice up my downloads as my ISP continues to hinder traffic from bulk downloading sites such as RS. I use IDM and typically have the max connections set to its maximum of 16. In the past I have left it to download 1 file at a time, using 16 connections. I started thinking I could increase the number of connections by downloading more files at once. So I set this to 5 downloads in parallel, each with 16 connections. To my disgust, I woke up to see it seemed to work for a while, but then every download was 'connection reset by peer'.

What do you guys think happened here? For what it's worth, I had the same issue the prior night with megashares, so I don't think this was some freak occurrence. Both hosts claim you can download as many files as you like in parallel. RS says it has no limit on the number of connections per download. I'm at a loss, any ideas?

I use Free Download Manager, unlike IDM its free and still has browser integration and support for premium accounts

EDIT: Also if you run GNU/Linux I can help you out with setting up curl or wget
